Privacy Policy — SOLI Solitaire | AEI Digital Solutions

Short version: SOLI stores your game statistics only on your own Mac. Your name and score are only sent to a public leaderboard if you explicitly choose to enable it. We do not collect your email address, location, device ID, or any personal data beyond what you voluntarily provide.

1. Who We Are

AEI Digital Solutions is an independent software studio operated by Adrian Eugen Ionescu. We develop and distribute desktop applications, including SOLI Solitaire.

2. What Data SOLI Collects

We never collect: your email address, IP address, device identifier, location, browsing history, or any data unrelated to gameplay.

3. The Global Leaderboard Optional

SOLI includes an optional global leaderboard powered by Google Firebase Realtime Database (Google LLC, United States). This feature is disabled by default.

If you choose to enable the leaderboard at first launch (or later via Menu → Privacy), SOLI will transmit your chosen display name and your score to Firebase when you complete a Daily Challenge. No other data is transmitted.

Your display name is chosen by you — it does not need to be your real name.
Submitted scores are publicly visible to all players on the leaderboard.
You can disable leaderboard submission at any time via Menu → Privacy → Play Privately.
To request deletion of previously submitted scores, contact us at the address above.

4. Local Data Storage

All game data is stored in a folder on your Mac at:

~/Library/Application Support/SOLI/

This folder contains your scores, statistics, preferences, and consent choice. You can delete this folder at any time to reset the application completely. No copy of this data is held by AEI Digital Solutions.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

AEI Digital Solutions is subject to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as a data controller. Our legal bases for processing are:

Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — leaderboard name and score transmission. You provide explicit consent at first launch and can withdraw it at any time.
Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — local storage of game statistics and preferences, necessary to provide the core application functionality.

6. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restriction — request that we limit how we use your data
Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
Withdraw consent — at any time, via Menu → Privacy inside the app

7. Data Retention

Local data — retained on your Mac until you delete the app's support folder or uninstall the application.
Leaderboard data — retained in Firebase until you request deletion by contacting us.

Google LLC participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and provides appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

9. Children's Privacy

SOLI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data through the leaderboard, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top when changes are made. Continued use of SOLI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
